General
About the company.
What does Urban Solutions actually do?
We're an urban development platform: a single partner for the real estate, staffing, security, facility management, and market-entry support that retailers, logistics providers, and international brands need to operate in fast-moving cities.
Do I need to use every service, or can I start with one?
Start with one. Most partners begin with a single service — often Urban Spaces or Urban Fulfilment — and add facility management, manpower, or security once the location is live and the need is clear.
Which regions do you operate in?
Our core operating base is the UAE, with Corporate Services supporting international brands entering or scaling in the market from abroad.
What industries do you typically work with?
Quick commerce, retail and grocery, logistics providers, commercial real estate owners, facility operators, and international brands entering the region.
Working Together
Engagement and process.
How does a typical engagement start?
With a short conversation about what you're trying to do — launch a new site, staff an existing one, tighten up facility operations, or enter the market. From there we scope an assessment and propose next steps.
How is pricing structured?
Every engagement is scoped around the service mix, site count, and operating complexity involved, so pricing is proposed after an initial assessment rather than fixed in advance.
How long does it take to get started?
It depends on the service and site readiness, but most engagements move from first conversation to a working plan within one to two weeks.
Can Urban Solutions manage multiple sites under one contract?
Yes. Multi-site portfolios are common, and we consolidate reporting so you see performance across every location in one place, rather than juggling separate vendors per site.
Do you replace our existing vendors, or work alongside them?
Either. We can take over existing vendor relationships where it makes sense, or run a fresh procurement — whichever gets the operating standard where it needs to be.
Services
Specific service questions.
What's the difference between Urban Fulfilment and Urban Spaces?
Urban Spaces finds and activates the real estate — leasing, site strategy, fit-out. Urban Fulfilment then runs the daily operation inside it: staffing, pick paths, replenishment, and delivery handover.
Can Urban Labs work with our existing technology stack?
Yes. Pilots are designed to integrate with or sit alongside the systems you already use rather than replace them outright.
Do you provide both physical security and monitoring technology?
Yes. Guarding, access control, and CCTV coordination are typically combined into one plan rather than sold as separate add-ons.
Can you support short-term or seasonal staffing needs?
Yes. We plan around seasonal peaks, project launches, and short-notice coverage in addition to permanent placements.
By Service
Service-specific details.
Urban Fulfilment
What counts as a micro fulfilment hub?
A small, dense-format space — often a converted retail unit, dark store, or warehouse corner — optimized for pick, pack, and dispatch rather than long-term storage.
Can you help find the site as well as run it?
Yes. Our Urban Spaces team can source and evaluate locations, and Urban Fulfilment takes over readiness, staffing, and daily operations once the site is secured.
How fast can a new hub go live?
Timelines depend on the space's condition, but a fit-out-ready unit can typically move from signed lease to operating hub in a matter of weeks, not months.
Do you support multi-hub networks across a city?
Yes. We plan hub placement in relation to each other to avoid catchment overlap and to keep the network efficient as it scales.
Facility Management
Do you take over existing vendor contracts?
Yes. We can review and transition existing vendor relationships, or run a fresh procurement if the current setup isn't performing.
What's included in planned maintenance?
Asset registers, scheduled inspections, preventive servicing, and repair coordination — designed to catch issues before they become downtime.
Can you manage multiple sites under one contract?
Yes. Multi-site portfolios are common, and we consolidate reporting so you see performance across every location in one place.
How do you report on facility performance?
Through a regular reporting cadence covering uptime, open work orders, safety status, and energy performance, agreed with you upfront.
Urban Labs
What does a typical pilot look like?
A defined problem, a live site or process to test it in, a clear success measure, and a fixed window to gather results before deciding whether to scale.
Do we need our own data or technology team?
No. Urban Labs can bring the data and technical capability needed to run the pilot, though we're glad to work alongside an existing team.
How long does a pilot take before we know if it works?
Most pilots are scoped to run in weeks rather than months, so you get a plain-language read on results quickly.
Can Urban Labs work alongside our existing tech stack?
Yes, pilots are designed to integrate with or sit alongside the systems you already use rather than replace them outright.
Urban Spaces
Do you only work with warehouse and dark-store formats?
No. We also support customer-facing retail nodes, though warehouse and dark-store formats are where most Q-commerce demand sits today.
Can you help negotiate lease terms?
Yes. We support the commercial conversation alongside site evaluation, so terms reflect the operating model, not just the address.
How do you evaluate a location before recommending it?
We look at catchment density, delivery radius, access and loading, visibility, and how the site fits the wider network you're building.
Do you support fit-out and activation after leasing?
Yes, we connect the leasing decision directly to fulfilment, facility management, and security so the space is ready to operate, not just rented.
Manpower Solutions
Can you provide short-term or seasonal staffing?
Yes. We plan around seasonal peaks, project launches, and short-notice coverage in addition to permanent placements.
How do you screen and train workers?
Every placement goes through role-specific screening and onboarding covering safety, service standards, and site-specific procedures before day one.
What industries do your teams typically support?
Retail, logistics, facility management, and commercial operations are the most common, though our pool covers a wider range of operational roles.
Can staffing scale up or down quickly?
Yes, that flexibility is core to the service — teams are sized to match real demand rather than fixed headcount.
Security Services
Do you provide both physical guarding and monitoring technology?
Yes. Guarding, access control, and CCTV coordination are typically combined into one plan rather than sold as separate add-ons.
Can you design a security plan for a new site before it opens?
Yes. We can assess a site during fit-out so guarding, access points, and monitoring are ready for day one, not retrofitted afterward.
How do you handle incident reporting?
Every incident is logged and escalated through a defined chain, with reporting shared on the cadence you agree with your account team.
Are your guards licensed and insured?
Yes, all deployed personnel meet local licensing and insurance requirements for commercial security work.
Corporate Services
Do you handle full business licensing in the UAE?
Yes, we coordinate licensing, legal setup, and the related administrative steps needed to get a business operating locally.
Can you support brands that don't have a local office yet?
Yes, market entry and representation support is designed for brands starting from outside the UAE.
What does the marketing support actually include?
Positioning, research, content, and campaign planning tailored to the local market, alongside broader growth strategy.
How long does market entry typically take?
It depends on the business activity and structure chosen, but a clear plan and dedicated coordination materially shortens the timeline versus going it alone.
